Q & A

Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a teacher?
A: I have lots of different ideas!
1. Hair Stylist but I don't know if I really want to do this or just be able to get away with sporting pink hair and a little diamond stud in my nose?
2. Owner of a CUPCAKE BAKERY!!!

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Baking, Dancing, Zumba (even though I never go), crafty things like making little funky hair clips, and reading blogs.

Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I always wanted to be an ACTRESS! We can say I had a real flair for the DRAMATICS!! I took one whole Theater class and did my Shakespearian monologue then decided I think I was just wanting to be rich and famous. Well that hasn't really panned out either but I get to put on a show for my 1st/2nd graders every day!! You should hear my VOICES when I read!! Thanks Theater 1 ! I totally got my money's worth.

Q: What are your guilty pleasures?
A: Diet Dr. Pepper, Sugar cookie dough, Laguna Beach, The Hills, Hoarders, and Intervention.

Q: What is your biggest fear?!
A: Oh my gosh! Ever since we have had kids I have been terrified of driving over bridges because I am afraid we will fall into the water and then I will have to choose a kid to save. Now that they are older and I wouldn't have to get them out of car seats the fear is easing up...a little.

Q: When you’re on vacation, where do you like to go?
A: Family: DISNEYWORLD in FL!!! We just went for out daughter's 7th birthday around Halloween.
Couple: A cozy quiet cabin in Colorado during the Winter

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: This is going to sound funny but I will never forget my Middle School Guidance Counselor telling us that she never tried drugs because she was afraid she would like them and not be able to stop. I have always remembered that AND my Dad always told me to stop and think before I did something risky. He said to think about the worst thing that could happen and then if I thought it was worth it then go for it. This kept me out of A lot of trouble!!!
One more: It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission!!!

Q: What do you value most in others?
A: Honesty and Compassion

Q: If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass down to your kids, what would it be?
A: Independence: I think it is very important to be able to stand for what you believe in, even if you are standing alone.

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world….living or dead…who would it be?
A: I would like to eat lunch- no dinner- with my PoPo and my Guy T. They are my Grandpa's and they live in Heaven. I would like to meet with PoPo circa 1970 and Guy T. circa 1985...yep, I think they were pretty cool guys then.

Now tell us one random thing about yourself:
I was adopted at birth by two very lucky people! It's like they won the baby lottery...I swear!! Ha. No but really, I was very lucky to be adopted by two loving parents. I grew up with my lucky duck parents and brother in a small town in Oklahoma. I always thought I was cooler than everyone who wasn't adopted because of my fourth grade TEACHER who told a mean boy ( relationship gone wrong- 4th grade drama) who told me my mother didn't even want me (ZING!) loud enough for her to hear. WOW!!! Really stupid on his part...this is the day I found out my teacher's kids were also adopted. She proceeded to take us both into the hall and inform us both that his parents got stuck with him and mine got to choose me. That always stuck with me. LOVE. HER. Well, fast forward about 15 years when I was working with a great lady who told me about her adoption story. She told me about how she confirmed her fears of her biological parents being less than desirable. This has always been one of the main reasons I never felt the need to search mine out. She then went on to tell me about something I had never even considered....SIBLINGS! She met some of her siblings and one of her sister's was an amazing person and made the search totally worth it. The seed had been planted. Then after becoming very Nancy Drew-ish ( LOOONG STORY) I found my two little brothers and they lived less than two hours away!!! I love these boys and guess what....we even look a little bit alike and have similar personalities.
AMAZING.
My Biological mom is a loser= CONFIRMED.
The good news is that I already have the best Mom! = One lucky ducky!!

Now it’s time for YOU to join the party!!!! Here’s what you need to do: Write a post titled “Meet The Teacher”. 1. I found your blog over at the link party!

I LOVE that you're into cupcakes and would like to own a cupcake bakery if you weren't teaching. I've been testing out new recipes lately after my new found addiction to 'Cupcake Wars' on Food Network!
